Barry McConachie

Chief Executive Officer - Founder

Barry McConachie has over 25 years of business development experience, building and managing software, renewable energy, data communications and wireless technology companies. In 2009 he founded Incenergy to develop affordable energy management retrofit software solutions for the commercial building market. As founder and CEO, Barry leads the company in innovating economical energy efficiency products that achieve energy reduction in commercial buildings and accelerate the evolution of the Smart Grid. His pioneering efforts leverage new technologies such as cloud based computing and wirelessly communicating thermostats yielding affordable energy management retrofit systems with scalability to remotely monitor and manage hundreds of devices.

Earlier in 2007, as the need for mitigating climate change was taking hold, the impetus for the Incenergy energy solution crystallized. Barry formed Global Climate Strategies (GCS), turning his strategic insights on developing energy efficiency software, bio-power, biogas, transportation fuel-switching and forestry projects in the United States and Latin America. Previously, as founder and CEO, Barry grew Multimedia Development Corporation into a leader in data provisioning systems and internet-voice soft-switching, serving major telecom companies such as MCI, Worldcom, Samsung and Tecnet. After leading MMD in a merger with Dallas-based DSL equipment provider Efficient Networks, Barry successfully turned the strategic focus of Efficient Networks from low-margin hardware sales to higher value systems and software products. He was then instrumental in the $1.5 billion dollar acquisition of Efficient Networks by Siemens AG, where he was appointed vice president and general manager of Service Management.

Barry graduated with Presidential Honors from DeVry Institute of Technology and pursued his Electronic Engineering studies at the University of Texas in Dallas. He is married with 3 children and lives beside beautiful Lake Austin. From there he has a carbon neutral commute in his electric vehicle.
